Working with the United Nations
I have been in a "long term relationship" with the United Nations since my post-doc in Geneva where my research project involved a collaboration between the IEH2 - Institute for Ethics, History, and the Humanities (then led by Alex Mauron) and the Ethics United of the World Health Organization (then led by Alex Capron).
In 2021, I was an "invited expert" to the consultation on the right to science in the context of toxics organized by the Special Rapporteur on the implications for human rights of the environmentally sound management and disposal of hazardous substances and wastes. I contributed to the drafting of the Report Right to science in the context of toxic substances presented by Marcos Orellana (Special Rapporteur on the implications for human rights of the environmentally sound management and disposal of hazardous substances and wastes) to the HRC in September 2021. My paper can be read here. |
I saw the organization in full swing, with heads of state and prime ministers parading, when I attended a special session of the UNGA in New York in 2017 as a consultant for the Government of Italy. It was a special treat.
Over the years, some of my reflections and interviews were posted on various websites of Bryant University. You can find a few below.
